    FAQ

Before we get stuck into the Frequently Asked Questions, we wanted to address the elephant in the room. Namely, what the heck is the difference between a normal (ASP 1) Level 1 electrician and an (ASP 2) Level 2 electrician?
A Level 1 electrician is your run of the mill sparky trained to handle a wide range of electrical tasks within residential, commercial, and industrial settings. These tasks include installing wiring, outlets, and lighting fixtures, conducting routine maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical issues. So, hiring a Level 1 sparky is fine, if your needs are run of the mill. But there are many, many things that a Level 1 sparky is not legally allowed to do. And that’s where a Level 2 sparky comes in.
A Level 2 electrician possesses a significant number of additional qualifications and government accredited certifications to a Level 1 electrician, which enables them to work on more complex and specialised electrical tasks. Naturally they can do everything a Level 1 sparky can do, but a Level 2 sparky is also authorised to connect and disconnect properties from the electrical network, manage metering equipment, and perform repairs on service lines themselves (between the distribution network and the consumer’s premises). Their expertise also extends to working on overhead and underground service lines, installing new electricity meters, and upgrading existing systems to accommodate increased (3-phase) power demands.
In a nutshell, hiring a Level 2 sparky ensures you will have someone on site with the knowledge and knowhow to handle any electrical issues you might have, be it large or small. So, if you want an EXPERT to do the work, then look no further than hiring the team at Level 2 Emergency Electricians. Because when it comes to working with electricity, you need to make sure the job is done correctly, and is performed by an expert.
A level 2 electrician is an authorised service provider licenced to carry out works on electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. They can perform the more complex tasks of service connection and disconnection, installing and repairing overhead and underground service lines, metering installations.
